Youth

St. John the Divine offers ministry devoted to children and young people.

Your young people are important to our church community.  At the 10am Eucharist, before heading off to Sunday school, our young people come forward for a youth sermon and prayer.   Our Sunday School has been actively involved in mission work with their Pennies from Heaven program.   By collecting change, our youth have raised over $400 for various oversees ministry organizations.

Along with the Mother's Union, the Sunday School has also been very active in collecting supplies for Canada Cares and The Compassionate Warehouse.

Confirmation classes are offered for those interested in being confirmed and Baptism preparation is available upon request.

We have a wide age range of youth participating at St. John the Divine from teens to infants.  Many of our young people participate in the Server's Guild, help with coffee hour or assist with the younger children.

During the summer, we offer a Summer Kids Club during the 10am service.  We gather in the Parish Hall for videos, crafts and games.

We offer biblically based teaching and an environment that emphasizes the importance of love, respect and caring.

  Celebration of the
"Three King's Day

kings

On Sunday, January 10th, the children of St. John's celebrated Three King's Day by serving the congregation Three King's Cake.

During Sunday school, the children learned that this tradition is celebrated all over the world.  A traditional King's Cake is round and decorated with purple, gold and green.  Purple to symbolize royalty and the justice that Jesus brings, gold for the King of King's and green for our faith in Him.  Inside our cake three beans were secretly baked.
